Plain Site Designs

Privacy policy

Effective

Plain Site Designs ("we", "us") builds and looks after websites for local businesses. This page explains what information we have, why, and what we do with it. Questions or requests: hello@plainsitedesigns.com.

What we collect

  • From businesses we contact: the business name, phone number and address from public map listings, plus notes from our calls. We use these to call you about a website and to build your free preview.
  • From clients: your name, business details, phone number, email address, and the photos and answers you send through our intake form.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We see the amount, your name and email, and the last four digits of your card, never your full card number.
  • Visitors to our websites: our sites don't use cookies, analytics or tracking. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical data, like IP addresses, to deliver pages and block attacks.

How we use it

To contact you about a website, build and run your site, send invoices and receipts, answer your messages, and keep the records the law requires.

Who we share it with

Only the services that help us do the work: Stripe (payments), Tally (our intake form), Cloudflare (hosting, web addresses and email forwarding) and Google (email and file storage). We never sell your information or share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

While you're a client, and afterwards only as long as we need it for tax and business records. Call notes about businesses that don't become clients are deleted when we no longer need them.

Your choices

  • Ask us what we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@plainsitedesigns.com.
  • If you don't want calls from us, tell us on the call or by email. We'll take you off our list and won't contact you again.

Children

Our services are for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
